The role of the general evaluator is to evaluate everyone who has not yet been evaluated. Club members visit other clubs in order to perform the role., to give an external perspective on other club meetings. It is a role for experienced Toastmasters who have performed each of the functionary roles themselves.

- Observe and comment on all aspects of the meeting, including venue, welcome and atmosphere.
- Provide commendations and recommendations on all members performing roles which have not yet been evaluated, from the president to toastmaster, timekeeper to all evaluators.
