Toastmaster

The Toastmaster hosts the meeting, guiding members and guests through the agenda. They introduce all speakers and functionary roles. The Toastmaster often chooses a theme for the meeting to add some interest and fun.

Top Tips:

  • Contact all speakers in advance of the meeting and find out if there’s anything they would like including in your introduction of their speech.
  • Make sure the other people taking on functionary roles know what they are doing.
  • Work closely with the timekeeper to ensure the meeting runs on time.
  • Comment on what each person on the stage has said to show you were listening.
