Introduction to Pathways

Updated: May 18

What are pathways?

Pathways is Toastmasters International’s learning programme, helping members build communication and leadership skills through practical, goal-based projects. Members choose a path aligned to their objectives and progress at their own pace, applying their learning both online and in club meetings.

It provides a clear, structured approach to skill development, ensuring steady progression and real-world relevance, rather than simply delivering speeches without direction.

What pathways are available?

Toastmasters Pathways offers six learning paths, each focused on a different mix of communication and leadership skills. While the structure is consistent, the focus varies, allowing members to choose a path aligned with their goals, from core speaking to leadership and influence.

Each path has five levels, with projects increasing in complexity. These combine online learning with practical application in club meetings, creating a clear and structured progression.
